SHANGHAI PART I
I don't think I've posted the photos I took on my Shanghai trip, so here goes. These were taken on my first trip there, where I first got acquainted with Gary, who shared the same vision as me, that we should fuck sleep and party. So every evening, we would hop into a cab and ride out to Shanghai city from where we work at the Wai(4) Gao(1) Qiao(2) free trade zone. Some of the photos are pretty crappy cause they were taken with my old SonyEricsson mobile.

What's grand about work trips with my ex-company is the VIP treatment. I checked out from the airport and there was a guy in a uniform holding a placard with my name, waiting to pick me up in a big black Buick. And not to forget, not having to make my bed in the mornings. The second pic is one of Pu(3) Xi(1) or old Shanghai. Doesn't it kinda resemble HongKong? I actually prefer Shanghai to HongKong.

The famous Peace Hotel or He(2) Ping(2) Fan(4) Dian(4). There's actually two of them, right across the street from each other. Don't ask me which is the original, because I have no idea. I love Shanghai in the night. It's full of lights and colors. Then again, I am only usually out only at night, since I have to work in the day.

We checked out quite a few night spots. The 9 light circles actually serves a purpose. To gain entry to the club, you have to guess the combination by sticking your arms into two of the circles. If you guessed correctly, the door slides open, else a trick panel slides open and tell you to try again. The combination changes every night, so it's usual to see people stuck outside trying to get in. I can't remember what's the name of the club any more. Dragon club is another night spot that I checked out with Gary, together with Face, Baby Face, and a few other joints.

More of Shanghai in the night. Some of Cheng(2) Huang(2) Miao(4) area, where they serve great dumplings and dim sum.

The following photos were taken at Wu(2) Xi(1) Gu(3) Zhen(4). The same place that recently made headlines for the water pollution problem. The whole town is built around a river and the main mode of transport are little boats. WuXi is a couple of hours away from Shanghai and I went there during the weekends.

On the last day of my trip I decided to be adventurous and try out this road side stall near where I was staying. I ordered beef noodle soup, which costs less than a dollar a bowl, but was surprisingly yummy. Photo on the right is the living room of the service apartment that I was staying in. There were about eleven of us that went on this trip and we all had our own apartments.

Although our service apartment was situated near the Wai Gao Qiao free trade zone where we were working, there were some really nice cafes in the vicinity within walking distance, including a huge carrefour where we can stock up on snacks and other form of comfort food.

We got a pretty decent allowance of SGD100 per day, so most of the time we were dining at nice restaurants like this jap fusion place that we went. The ice coconut looking thing actually contains cold soba noodles and the one on the bottom is green tea tiramisu. I didn't manage to take photos of the rest of the food. There were about six of us and our bill came up to the equivalent of a local fresh grad engineer's pay.

Just Kidding!!!

I took puppy out to dust her and I found some old photos in her. Including this one of CarolK, which I snapped off a magazine.

And some of the time when I took Puppy out for a drive with me, she was sitting on my lap. :) I wonder if it is as much an offence as driving with your mobile phone.

Some of the new toys I got so far and one of Winnifred.
